Transfer Confirmation
St Mirren Football Club announced that forward Roland Idowu has left the club to join Romanian SuperLiga side FC Botosani. The club secured an undisclosed fee and a sell-on clause.
Idowu’s Contributions
The Irishman departed after two seasons, having made 80 appearances and scored eight goals for the Buddies. He began his spell on loan from Shrewsbury Town in July 2024, featuring 36 times in his debut season.
From Loan to Permanent Deal
Idowu scored on his William Hill Premiership debut in a 3-0 win at home to Hibernian and netted a dramatic late winner in a 3-2 victory over Ross County that secured St Mirren’s third top-six finish in a row. After impressing, he signed a permanent deal in June 2025 and finished the 2025-26 season with 38 appearances, three goals and three assists.
