Killian Phillips has returned to training and is expected to be involved for St Mirren in their Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee United this Saturday. The 24-year-old midfielder, who has scored three goals in two appearances this season, has been out for the last four matches with a shin problem.
Manager Craig McLeish confirmed the positive update on Phillips, who was the subject of transfer interest over the summer. "Killian is back," McLeish said. "He’s trained this week with no real issues." His return provides a welcome boost for a side sitting fifth in the Premiership with 10 points from seven games, and looking to bounce back from a 3-0 home defeat to the same opponents just last week.
Ramos sidelined
While Phillips is back, Spaniard Samuel Ramos will not be involved this weekend as he continues to manage a hamstring knock. The club hopes the upcoming international break will allow him to recover fully in time for the return of domestic action next month.
St Mirren's next fixture is a tough away trip to second-placed Heart of Midlothian on 10 October.
