St Mirren have strengthened their squad with the loan signing of Rangers youngster Paul Nsio. The 20-year-old has opted to join the Buddies over English interest, with several clubs reportedly linked with his signature. League standing (final 2025 table -- new season not yet under way): 10th in Premiership, 30 pts, 7W-9D-17L from 33 games, recent form WDDWL. Goals this season: 27 scored, 48 conceded (-21 goal difference). Title race: 40 points behind leaders Heart Of Midlothian. Nsio has made three senior appearances for Rangers and has been on loan at Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship. He has now made his decision for his next loan move, joining St Mirren. The decision smacks of a young talent who wants to play football and prove himself every week. That could certainly serve him well at Ibrox, especially when he returns next summer. Nsio's decision to join St Mirren may raise questions over why he would choose a side that only narrowly avoided relegation via play-off. However, the Buddies will now kick-off their season still in the Premiership, and Nsio is almost guaranteed to be a regular for the side. That may not be the case elsewhere in Scotland or in England, especially if Wigan or Blackpool were eying promotion. The decision to join St Mirren says a lot about his mentality as it could prove to be the making of his Govan career. Next fixture: vs Dundee (away, 2026-12-26) (9th in the table).
